Our Story, Your Story Revisited

Last week our students our students read their Your Story, Our Story submissions at the Tenement Museum. Here are some photos from the event:

Your Story, Our Story features objects that tell personal stories of American immigration and migration.

This national project uncovers the patterns that bind us, no matter where we came from or how long we’ve been here. Explore stories from across the country, upload the story of an object that carries meaning in your family, and join us in telling the story of American immigration and migration.

In collaboration with the Tenement Museum, Class E4 (taught by Allyn Wong) share their stories online.

Tenement Museum Open House

On Friday, May 5th and Saturday, May 6th, the Tenement Museum is having an open house. That means anybody can go there for free. There will be free tours of the museum, games, and other activities. It’s a great place to learn about the history of immigrants in New York City – and you can bring your kids, too!

But you have to RSVP. That means if you want to go, you have to make a reservation. Call the Tenement Museum before May 3rd to make your reservation at 877-975-3786. You should call sometime between 9 am and 5 pm. Space is limited, so call soon!

The open house is from 11:00 am to 5:15 pm on both Friday and Saturday.

The Tenement Museum is located at 103 Orchard St., New York, NY 10002. It’s just a few blocks from University Settlement! Click here for a map.
